Opening of the Government Building on HAMMOND Drive is delayed today until 10:00 due to weather.

These kind grandparents came by this morning with donuts but really wanted to share their daughter with us. Kendle died in January 2019. These folks want to honor her memory by asking us all to do ten acts of kindness this week ( and every week) to remember Kendle on her birthday today. Support this effort. We all ought to be doing that everyday. You never know what a small showing of kindness to a stranger can do to both your lives.

Two vehicle accident Hwy 81 south of Bold Springs Rd. Non life threatening injuries. Roadway blocked.

Old Hwy 81 at Snook Thompson is blocked in reference to a garbage truck stuck in a ditch.

We will be doing active shooter training today thru Thursday from 9:00-12:00 noon at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. Don’t be alarmed if you see a large police presence.

We received two private messages of thanks last week that once more shows the heart of our deputies. One was from a lady from Stone Mountain who happened to be passing thru Walton County when she had a flat tire. The other message is posted as a photo. Two of our fine deputies went to visit Sgt. Timmie yesterday. He is recovering from surgery and it was his birthday. Happy Birthday.

Highway 78 eastbound near Sardis Church Road partly blocked in reference to a pursuit which ended in a crash. Vehicle was stolen. All deputies are ok. Suspect fled on foot, but was apprehended shortly after.
