The muddy water from the creek is flushing out of the spring as it should! Visibility is reported to be 8ft...not much different from a busy summer weekend All kidding aside, we are glad to see the spring clearing back up and can't wait to dive there again soon. Vortex is planning to open back up for divers this weekend!

This is a gallery of some of the major damage done to St. Andrews State Park around the jetties from Hurricane Sally. It looks like the "gulf side" and the kiddie pool could be connected for now.

For our divers that haven't seen, Vortex Spring was hit pretty hard from the rain dumped by Hurricane Sally the past few days. The creek overflowed through the camping area and washed out a lot of dirt into the swimming area, which spilled over into the spring. From the pictures, the water was running down the hill into the spring from the parking area side as well. It looks like the area on the swimmer's side of the Snack Shack pavillion was impacted the hardest. Now, they are waiting for the spring water to clear back up. Check out Vortex's Facebook page to see pictures of the flooding and more of the aftermath as the waters started to recede.
