Alternative Weddings by Rev Roberts 06.04.2021

This is the first wedding of 2021 that I have done. It was on Monday, January 11 at Juliette Chapel with the couple and her 11 year old daughter. They basically eloped and were putting the wedding together at the last minute, but it came off really well in spite of a little bit of rain.

The last wedding of 2020 was done December 21, the Solstice, at the gazebo in the park at Amicalola Falls. I just had to get a picture of the gorgeous tree in the atrium of the Lodge as well! This couple will have a proper wedding celebration in 2021 but wanted to go ahead and get officially married now. They chose a special day with the Grand Conjuction of Jupiter and Saturn in the night sky as well.

This wedding on November 20, 2020 was in the most far out place I've ever gone! I had to turn down Forest Service Road 339 (for real!) and I thought I would never find the house. But once there, it was lovely. I'm just sorry the little flower girl was too short to have her face in the photo. She and the ring bearer did their jobs very well and the weather was perfect!

Well better late than never, I guess. I married this couple at Juliette Chapel in Dahlonega on August 20, 2020 and the photographer just now got their pictures to them, today, November 18, three months later! At least they have bright smiling faces in the picture and it was a lovely day, although a little windy, as my hair can attest.

On Friday November 14, 2020, this couple got married at 1888 House in Dahlonega, GA. This is a newly restored old house literally steps away from the square. It just so happened that the bride's favorite color was purple and my mantle happened to match the colors used in the wedding perfectly! The weather was perfect too and the little flower girl and ring bearer did their parts very well.

On Veteran's Day Nov. 11, 2020, I just barely married this couple at The Barn at Young Harris. I had kidney stones and a last minute doctor's visit in Gainesville so I wasn't sure I could get to the venue by 4:00 PM. I squeaked in with 10 minutes to spare and officiated the wedding! The weather was drizzly but an open pavilion worked great. The couple used an open picture frame for the central container in a sand ceremony, which I thought was a neat idea.
