Our by @hannahonians is Sold Out, but here’s how you can plan ahead to enjoy the rejuvenating benefits at home. We’ll celebrate solstice 12/21 - the darkest night of the year that heralds the coming of Light, both literal and spiritual - with a releasing ceremony that begins with a relaxing foot soak to symbolically wash away old energy. Then, restorative yoga to recalibrate, and plenty of candlelight as we call forth the light of our ...own inner knowing. For your at home ceremony, gather these ingredients: - Rose petals (torn into pieces) - Eucalyptus or peppermint leaves - 1 Lemon (sliced) - 1/2 Cup of Epsom salts - 1 Large bowl - Hot water If you collect extra ingredients, you can use dried petals, leaves, lemon and mason jars to share handmade foot bath gifts with friends. Prepare your foot bath and simply sit quietly. It may be helpful to silently inhale the word let, and silently exhale the word go. After your soak, we recommend up to five minutes of Viparita Karani (also known as Reverse Action pose or Legs Up The Wall pose) to enhance circulation and the flow of prana, and to further relax the thinking mind as you prepare to flow into the new cycle ahead. This pose is excellent just before bedtime. Finally, integrate by journaling about anything you may have released attachment to this year. @alanasaporiti #wintersolstice #greatconjunction #restore #footbath #release #groundingceremony #restorativeyoga #viparitakarani #callingthelight #roses #bestill #bestillandknow #atlantayogastudio See more

Do you use a technique to center yourself for meditation? Today we’re using a simple box breath, also known as square breathing. To do it, sit comfortably with a tall spine and visualize a box, or a simple square. - Inhale slowly and evenly for a count of four as you trace the first side of the square; - hold your breath in as you count for four seconds, tracing the top of the square; - exhale slowly and evenly for four seconds, tracing down the other side of the square;... -hold the breath empty for four seconds. as you trace the bottom of the square back to the starting point. - Repeat. Box breathing helps up balance our respiration, which in turn helps balance our nervous system, creating a state of calm - a place to hang out with your soul with no expectations. #meditatedaily #listeningtogod #mindfulliving #meditationpractice #calmdown #balance #fridayvibes #fabulousfriday #yogini #atlantayoga #boxbreathing #squarebreathingforempaths

The world feels more harmonious today, and Violinist @astoldbystew and I are ready to share a morning of deep release, renewal and soulful sound. See you Sunday! LINK IN BIO, or https://Santosha.as.me/VYV Space is limited to 10 practitioners.... Masks encouraged when not on your mat. About the artist: Classically trained violinist Susannah Stephens began playing the violin at five years old. Her grandfather taught her to play by ear, teaching her to feel the music as opposed to reading. As Susannah became more skilled, she learned to read music and played in many orchestras. More recently, she has begun playing meditative music on the violin for local yoga studios and has performed at Dirty South Yoga Fest (2019). With her violin under her chin, strings taught under her fingers, she allows the violin to sing melodic and meditative tones and sounds that speak to your soul. While listening to this heart-opening, live music during your practice, you’re able to connect with your body. Susannah is a Reiki Master and uses her energy to tap into the energetics of the room and intuitively plays from the heart. Come join and allow her to take your soul on a journey with beautiful and dreamlike melodies. @merry_studiomphotos #yinyoga #consciouscolaborator #violinplayer #atlantayoga #atlyoga #privateyogastudio #yogawithlivemusic #atlantayogaevents #consciousliving #yinyang #yinyogalove #sandysprings #buckheadatlanta

Tonight’s Five Element Yin class focuses on energetic detoxification - specifically the energies of frustration and anger. Our Wood element sequence is designed for cleansing, renewing and beginning again, as the Wood element governs our relationship to order, planning, and control. In the physical body, a Wood element practice supports the liver. There are more than 500 known functions carried out by the liver, including conversion of carbohydrates, processing of protein, ...storage of iron, assembly of amino acids, and destructions of toxins of all kinds. As the energetics are a moving, shifting stagnant energy, we use twists as a cleansing technique which helps us approach the center line more aptly, and hip openers to clear the debris. Come rest, feel and reconnect to your calm, confident and intuitive nature with this hour-long flow followed by candlelight Yoga Nidra. - LINK IN BIO - One space remaining. You’re invited to join @alanasaporiti for the final of the year (virtually) Tuesday 12/15. This last initiation cycle of 2020 coincides with a solar eclipse in Sagittarius, and according to lunar lore, such an eclipse magnifies the power of this Mercury-ruled moon by up to 3x. Because eclipse energy is somewhat unpredictable, traditionally rituals are held the day before or the day after the new moon so that we can spend the actual new moon... (12/14) alone in receptive contemplation. Then we gather. As Alana centers us in a group meditation, we’re encouraged to journal, to speak and to seal our intentions into our circle of sisterhood. This is where our intentions for 2021 are birthed, under the cover of darkness we dream... we are witnessed... and then we co-create with the Universe to manifest what will be. Join us! Tonight we’re watched over by the Taurus Full Moon (a rare Blue Moon) on Samhain. Taurus resonates with the themes of resources, pleasure, beauty, earthly delights, hedonism, and all things sensual. Taurus is connected to the experience of being embodied. It’s is aligned with Aphrodite, the sensual, earthy fertility goddess associated with the pleasure of physical love. Other guiding goddesses are Gaia, Annapurna, Ixcacao.... As you create your personal ritual, this is a good time for spiritual work that centers around , , . Reflecting on Samhain and the Moon: Samhain is the Gaelic celebration of the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, or the "darker half" of the year. It begins on the evening of October 31 and invites us to honor ancestors and prepare for a time of reflection. This year Samhain corresponds with a powerful Blue Moon (and Halloween). Symbolically, the Moon tarot card teaches a time of reflection, as the Moon reflects the light of the Sun. ... , , . The Moon card represents these watery fears rising up in the depths of the unconscious. It also is associated with divination, strong spiritual connections, timeless cycles and communication between realms. Samhain, a time when the veil between worlds is thin, is also a time for divinatory activities and . The card features a lot of water, representing the deep and sometimes turbulent waters of the soul. Dive deeply and submerge yourself in the Moon. Find your way through these depths and discover the gifts that will shape you as you continue your journey. The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door.
