My regular job gives me opportunities to see some really interesting and significant pieces of history (and sometimes pre-history). Today I am working with a crew photographing the Grand Opera House in Macon, Georgia. The reason we are at this site in particular is because this theater still has an intact segregation-era balcony. An educational and eye-opening experience to be sure. These bench seats are incredibly narrow and uncomfortable. It’s 60 degrees outside, and it is easily in the 80s up here. And this area would host upwards of 1000 people on show nights. 1000 people, with two bathrooms. It’s Throw-back Thursday time! Alexis is an young, talented dancer. I took some portraits of her back in 2013 at the start of her modeling and dance career, and she was my first non-family client! We had a ton of fun with the shoot, and her mother was a super helpful assistant! I haven’t done a modeling session in a while, and I would LOVE to do something along those lines again soon. If any of my friends and followers would like to celebrate their passions and hobbies, I would love to work out a photography session!

The world needs more people like this. If you are from the Newnan area, you probably know of Mr. Personality. This guy spends his free time dancing around on a street corner downtown, waving at passing traffic, offering free hugs, and being the friendly face of the town square.

It was such an great joy for me to be able to photograph the wedding of Cody and Jamie! Despite the rainy weather, these two beautiful people pledged their love to one another in front of friends and family. Cody and I go back many years. I had the privilege of being his youth pastor for several years, and I am so happy to see the man that he has grown to be! And he really hit the jackpot when he found Jamie, she is so sweet! Congratulations to both of you! And if it couldn't get any better, I had the opportunity to work with a professional wedding planner for the first time. Now I am completely spoiled, thanks to Erica at Mabry Events!

It is said that rain on your wedding day is good luck. Cody and Jamie don’t need luck, they have each other.

I was so excited when The Bolands contacted my wife to request a portrait session, since I hadn’t seen them since just after the birth of their first child. I was even more excited when she said I didn’t have to keep these under wraps for the holidays, and that I could go ahead and share them! Such a loving, beautiful family, easily one of my favorite repeat clients!
