Todd Weyandt, host of Bridging the Gap Podcast catches up with the Electrical and Mechanical segment managers of eVolve MEP on Day 1 of MEP Force 2020. A couple of important new software updates for eVolve MEP have recently come out, and we break down those new features and discuss what we are looking forward to during the next two days of the conference.
As the stretch of social distancing and stay-at-home yawns forward, those of us who are working from home are getting used to some of isolation’s odd side-effects. Zoom calls, Skype calls and phone-in conference calls have become the norm, and it’s great to have those options. We can still talk face-to-face with our coworkers (in a sense), and we can still gather around the watercooler (given that said watercooler is the name of a group chat).
One thing that needs to happen is a shift in mentalities between stick built and prefabricating products in-shop. Things need to change in the industry in order for prefab to grow in demand and use in construction.
Given that a commercial building’s HVAC system (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) accounts for 44 percent of its energy consumption and is central to occupant comfort, it’s safe to say that optimal operation of HVAC is critical.
