Does anyone have any pictures of the Corvair number 43 that Jerome Hanson drove in the early 70s? I have one of her sitting on a truck but none of it on the track or in the pits. Jerome later changed his number to the number 4

Jack Pennington raced at Athens once that I know of, they were paying $2500 to win if I remember right. It was a 100 lap race, does anyone remember who won that... race? There were lots of big names there so many late models signed up that they ran the rookie class and hobby Class Friday night. See more

I remember on Saturday night if we didn’t go to the races we could hear the cars from.STATHAM! This was in the 70s we lived right beside where the Ga Club on Ba...rber creek rd is now my dad and stepmom still live there that’s is until my dad passed Monday 2 weeks ago of Covid-19. One of my childhood /early teen memories..I really miss going to Athens Speedway my grandmother Almedia Hinesley used to work in the concession stand and I was ...a good girl all week to where I could go to the race on Saturday nights I never will forget it when I was NOT a good girl I had to sit in concession stand (time out) and bag hot dogs which was ok because I could still hear the cars and smell the dust and of coarse sneak a hot dog or two lol..on Sundays my dad Billy Hinesley and I would go clean up bleachers from the night before..it will always be in my memory and always in my heart See more
