I've started assisting in the latest Anat Baniel Method training program, and one of the things that's struck me both there and in the local workshops Anat has held here is the common theme of parents being willing to push the stars for their kids, but not necessarily doing things to help take care of themselves. Also common among caregivers and therapists. Of course there can be numerous reasons for this, but I figured there's at least one way I can try and help make things ...easier, so: I've set aside a number of ABM lessons and Rolfing sessions that I will make available at 50% off regular fee. These are available for parents (of kids with special needs or not), for anyone helping to take care of kids (grammas, this means you), or teachers and therapists of all ilk. 1 more week until Anat Baniel teaches a public workshop in Atlanta, there's still time to sign up! Lectures, experiential movement lessons, question and answer, a very full, very exciting day. Although this one is geared towards parents and caregivers of children with special needs, all are welcome. Part of the beauty of this work is its widespread applications, the same process that can help a child with cerebral palsy learn to roll, sit up, and walk can help an adult recov...er from a stroke or brain injury, or help someone else rehab after a knee or hip replacement, or help someone else regain movement in a way that doesn't flare their back pain, or help someone else improve the time for their marathons. In other words if you're interested in learning, neuroplasticity, improving movement, or just plain feeling better there's something for you to gain from ABM. And especially if you're the parent of a special needs child, or a Dr. or therapist of some type that works with children, please, please attend if not this workshop in Atlanta, then one of them scheduled in another local. There's a lot of interest in the Anat Baniel Method, especially as relates to working with children with special need, so ask away and I'll try to respond to any questions.
