On the 8th Day of Fitness, my trainer gave to me 8 sets of 8 Lunges. Lunges are a quintessential exercise; you can do them anywhere and the effects can be seen in no time, in the form of shapely, toned legs and backside. Make sure you're protecting your joints by following these basics: * Keep your upper body straight, with your shoulders back and relaxed and chin up (pick a point to stare at in front of you so you don't keep looking down). Always engage your core.... * Step forward with one leg, lowering your hips until both knees are bent at about a 90-degree angle. Make sure your front knee is directly above your ankle, not pushed out too far, and make sure your other knee doesn't touch the floor. When done with proper form, they can also strengthen the lower back and core by engaging the abdominal muscles. Whether you’re on your toes, your knees, or using a counter to assist while you wait for a batch of cooki...es to finish baking, remember these tips for proper pushup form: 1. Keep your back straight and your core engaged. 2. Your butt should be down, not lifted. 3. Your body should form a straight line. Faith knocked out her 26.2 on the treadmill Friday morning, finishing just under 5 hours. Joy hit the rainy boardwalk in Roswell for her 26.2 on Saturday. It's FlexFriday at Atlanta Fitness Diva! A little over a month ago, Nikki set "Deadlift My Bodyweight" as her strength goal. Nikki hit that goal with her Sumo Deadlift this month, and kept right on going. She also lost a few pounds, meaning she smashed the original goal and is now deadlifting *more* than her own weight!...
