I never got my picture with George, no one had cameras on their phones or even phones back then. He was a hero to me of sorts, so much of the way that we run Atlanta Vintage Guitars is due to George Luther, for some reason I dont remember JR his son. Steve I hope you dont mind me posting this pic. Underneath the salesman the guy had a heart of gold if he liked you ! If not though ...he would let you know !! He and I did lots of business together and at one of the Atlanta Guit...ar shows ...he helped me buy my son Eric his first Les Paul. And George made it happen for me and I am grateful for that the last time I saw him, I think I told him I was buying the store maybe and he said I hope you have a lot of money ! God speed to you. Down in florida George would go to Guitar Center pickup a keyboard, he had carte blanche to get whatever he wanted, and he would go to a nursing home ...set it up , play for a few hours, get up and walk out and leave the keyboard for the folks there to enjoy. George was one of a kind !! We will catch up one day ! See more

So glad to see a buddy of mine ...doing well !! I remember when he was just Tom Murphy !!

Here’s the Vintage V130 CDC 449.00 also a single P90 ! Both of the Vintage Brand guitars get in the ballpark and play great the Gibson to me has the edge on feel but both of them are great guitars for a lot less $$$$! We are now a Vintage Brand Dealer after all Vintage is our middle name!!

Here is the 2004 Gibson Les Paul JR. Wit a single P90 roughly 1300.00 this is not the famous stolen one this is one very similar!!

We are going to be doing a video comparing two guitars, a Vintage Vintage Reissued V120TB and a 2004 Gibson Les Paul Jr. (no this is not the one that was stolen from our front door, but a friend of mine who let me borrow this one for this video, but this is one reason why I was trying to get the other one that was stolen ! ) I want folks to see just how close these Indonesian guitars get to the real deal !!! We are going to be recording it and posting it today ...with the one and only Spencer Kirkpatrick playing them !

Our Christmas inventory is coming in, some new and some like new, we are helping sell a collection of guitars ...The Danelectros are here !!! Also several like new mid 90's Fenders ! And a Bill Webster like special guitar, a walnut ES 150 !!!

This weekend this stuff has to go for some price ....it just does ....Bring a big truck and make me an offer on all the road cases and the Marshall Cabs !!! I need the room !!!

We are having a big sale this week thru Saturday ...we have some drums (how did we get drums???), guitars,amps,road cases and they all have to go at some price ...changes are finally happening that have been in the works for months and we need room .....I will have my wheeling and dealing shoes on ....so make plans to come by ...we are so far covid free.....trades always welcome but really need to sell moreso than trade ...we have some great things happening !

What are some of you, guys and gals, favorite brands of guitars that are not Fender, Gibson, Epiphone, Martin and Taylor ?

This is my 1986 Gibson Melody Maker ..this maybe the second time I have owned it ...when I had to pay a lawyer for my divorce back in 1988 I sold one just like this ...and then one day a couple of years ago I was at my day job, owning Atlanta Vintage Guitars, and in walked this guitar and we did a trade on it and it went home with me ...so ...the case is different from the one I had but who knows ??? Also I never have liked guitars that had the input jack on the pickguard due... to I am afraid of stepping on the cord and breaking it, so this one I have named Marriott, after the one and only Steve Marriott, but I had this pickguard made and then came up with the idea for the upside down strat jack on a melody maker ...thanks to Jonathan Holland for helping me get this right ..and I wanted just one humbucker and one volume no tone knob and yes I dont play nothing at all like Eddie but if it works for EVH ...ya gotta love it !!! RIP to one of the good guys ....Eddie Van Halen ....a master player and great songwriter and someone I would have liked to have met ...he was also a great dad, friend and husband ...Sad news I was pulling for him to recover but cancer does not play fair at all !!!
