A Prayer for Our Veterans Loving God, We ask for blessings on all those who have served their country in the armed forces. We ask for healing for the Veterans who have been wounded, in body and soul, in conflicts around the globe. We pray especially for the young men and women, in the thousands, who are coming home with injured bodies and traumatized spirits. Bring solace to them, O Lord; may we pray for them when they cannot pray. We ask for, echoing John Paul II, an end to ...wars and the dawning of a new era of peace, as a way to honor all the veterans of past wars. Have mercy on all our Veterans. Bring peace to their hearts and peace to the regions they fought in. Bless all the soldiers who served in non-combative posts; May their calling to service continue in their lives in many positive ways. Give us all the creative vision to see a world which, grown weary with fighting, Moves to affirming the life of every human being and so moves beyond war. Hear our prayer, O Prince of Peace, hear our prayer. Amen.

The word "discernment" comes from a Latin word meaning "to sift apart". When we discern, we are trying to "sift apart" different possibilities in hopes of finding the one that is most life giving and where joy is found! Discernment is the willingness to take the next step and trusting that God will see us through. How do we develop the discipline of discernment in our lives? - Prayer... - Holy Hour - Scripture - Liturgy of the Hours - Daily Examen - Rosary - Eucharist - Confession - Mary and the Saints - Discernment Group - Spiritual Direction See more

This is your annual invitation to reflect on the idea of vocation. How are we progressing along that path, and how we may be called to pray for, support and encourage others in exploring their vocations. In the presence of the Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament, ask Him to reveal his plans for you. There's a story told about St. John Vianney, in which he often saw a farmer sitting in the back of the church, who spent long periods of time before the Eucharist. One day, St. John asked the farmer what he did during his time spent in adoration to which the farmer responded, "I look at Him and He looks at me". Eucharistic Adoration is a time for us to concentrate on Jesus present before us and allow Him to look back upon us with love.

It's National Vocation's Awareness Week! We call upon you, all our brothers and sisters in Christ to take a moment to pray for your vocation and for the courage to follow your call to serve in the Church. "Every vocation is born of that gaze of love with which the Lord came to meet us, perhaps even at a time when our boat was being battered by the storm. Even amid the storm-tossed waters, then, our lives become open to praise...an invitation to cultivate the interior disposition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Grateful that Lord gazed upon her, faithful amid fear and turmoil, she courageously embraced her vocation and made of her life an eternal song of praise to the Lord." - Pope Francis, 2020 World Day of Vocations #PrayForVocations #NationalVocationsAwarenessWeek

It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so att...racted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is he who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives. Saint John Paul II This quote from St. JPII continually reminds me that nothing in this life will fulfill me or satisfy me; my ultimate satisfaction and fulfillment only occur when everything in my life is ordered to and around the person of Jesus Christ. The intercession of St. JPII for me has been profoundly powerful and his life inspires and models for me what it looks like to be an authentic man of Christ, an authentic disciple of Christ, and God willing, an authentic priest of Jesus Christ.
