This woman's story is so inspiring! And this can be true for a LOT of professions, including veterinary medicine! Good morning! This is Dr. Pam Korb. I don't know many veterinarians who did not start out as "kennel help". I for one can remember in undergraduate school in west Alabama going to my early morning classes only to find fleas in my socks, after cleaning kennels at our local veterinarian's office earlier that morning. Some other fond memories are sitting out in the ...heat in various locations on hot, country dirt roads to help with rabies clinics for people who didn't drive so would walk to where we were waiting, and then while working in undergrad at Auburn, diving head first over fences to get away from mad, charging mama cows, almost getting kicked in the head by a foal when trying to teach it to lift its feet for cleaning, etc., etc. Fun stories!! I hope everyone is inspired by Ms. Andrades' and many other people's stories about hard work, determination, and persistence!! See more
