The Bears Make A Difference Executive Board and Volunteers hope that you and your families are safe and healthy through these unprecedented times with COVID-19. With MVAA looking to open their fall season, we at BMAD are wanting to do the same for our extraordinary athletes. As we move into summer, we are quickly trying to gauge interest to hold a BMAD baseball season in the fall. BMAD is open to any child or adult, ages 5-23, with mental, physical, or multiple disabilities. Wheelchairs and walkers are welcome. Play is non-competitive and designed for instructional recreation and FUN! If you have a child or know of a family that has a child that would be interested in playing, please contact Jason McCrary at [email protected].

Below is a message from MVAA President concerning BMAD and spring sports due to COVID-19. We hope this passes soon so we can get back on the field to watch our amazing athletes excel each Sunday afternoon!! Be safe!!! COVID-19 Update Bear Family,... We continue to monitor the rapidly developing situation with COVID-19 and are committed to providing you periodic updates. Please understand, our volunteers are doing the best that they can under these unprecedented circumstances. Our current suspension of all activities remains in effect through April 6th. We remain hopeful that we will be able to re-launch our spring sports, but a great deal of uncertainty persists as to how this will play out. I know that the weather has been beautiful and there is a natural desire to want to get kids together. I can only strongly urge you to heed the warnings and practice social distancing to help protect our kids and our community. Attached (below) is some guidance from the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners. Please note that they don’t want to close the parks, but if people continue to congregate in large groups, it is highly likely they will close all facilities. Also, I encourage you to show the best of our Bear community and help others during this difficult time. Whether it is delivering groceries to at risk people, donating to local food banks, or a simple thank you note to a teacher or healthcare worker, all of these can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Let’s come out of this stronger! Again, we appreciate your resilience and patience through this difficult time. GO BEARS! Tim Adams President - MVAA
