Bonaventure Cemetery Journeys

Found this rare Bonaventure stereoview in Greece. Many depict natural scenes, some Sunday dressed types, even one in my collection that is rare with the children that I've posted prior. But this appears to capture 3 women in 19th century mourning wear and one with a parasol. The woman furthest to the left is possibly looking at the camera. A scanner doesn't totally capture some of what you can see with a magnifying glass unfortunately but really fascinating moment.

One of my favorite writer sources (Amnesia of The Gods) for references to my tour discussions, relativity to cemeteries, secretized histories,etc. Cannot recommend him enough to my out of the box clients and fans!

Bo Peep was the Savannah history rock star you probably never heard of but was admired and loved by Elvis, Joe Louis, Gregory Peck, Robert Mitchum, Joe DiMaggio, Sugar Ray Robinson, Shoeless Joe Jackson and so many more. He created a universe & a kingdom that sadly was torn down in many ways too. No one loved him like his grandson, famed author of Great Balls of Fire, Murray Silver, Jr and we discuss it all graveside on the 121st Birthday of his beloved Bo Peep Grandpappy!

Just acquired this original photo of a Savannah mercantile, late 19th century. Their stoop's edge is iron with beveled iron columns bordering entrance and the doors have braided mesh wire over the windows. It reminds me of storefronts along Congress Street and feel I've seen it but can't place it quite yet. Just love the faces and wonder who they were and of course, where they're buried!
