Way back in 2018, we acquired the upstairs space of The Bookshelf building and turned it into a space for events and event rentals. The Top Shelf, we named her. In 2020, of course, she’s been mostly empty. I walk upstairs to my office and get a little depressed realizing all the things she hasn’t seen this year. But lately, she’s been bustling, a kind of cardboard factory devoted to packing online orders, filled with the laughter of my parents and aunt and uncle as they creat...e boxes and help us prep for holiday shopping.
