More frames! At least, partially. I still need to sand/finish/assemble them and get the pieces in there, but I feel I'm getting cleaner molding, and the process is getting quicker too. More to come as these get processed!

See? I told you I'd use those frames for something :) 7 down, something like 150 more to go! Still, I'm feeling productive and intend to spend much of the day making more frames at Makerspace CT

I swear, this group is still about origami :) However, this is a good cause that I would like to promote. For the past 9 Saturdays, I've been teaching an intro to CAD (computer-aided design) class to students in the Hartford area. We run a 5-week program on NX and additive manufacturing design, and have so far put 15 students through the program with 10 more in-progress. The students are learning skills that will follow them throughout their careers. MakerspaceCT is trying to get 100 students through by next summer and they need assistance. Click the livestream below in... about 7 minutes for a full description of the venture. If you can donate or share this to others who might be able to this Giving Tuesday, it would help the cause.

Our math discussion group started with a folding followup session with Uyên Nguyn showing us how to fold a corrugation freehand (no scoring). It's a semicircle-derived fold, and I added a few decorative elements (more reflection lines). It's not as colorful as Sarah Gelsinger Brewer's though, so I might have to get my hands on some stardream paper. This is just computer paper, and you can tell it's pretty roughly folded - every kink in the paper is pretty visible :) This was a collaborative design with Uyen Nguyen, Ben Fritzson, and I believe a third person who's name is eluding me now. EDIT: Not a sin wave, a semicircle-based function. I made a dumb mistake in my original post :D

A non-origami post? Sure :) My art career has brought me to learning some skills beyond origami design, at least to a somewhat competent level. I'm still very much an amateur video editor, but I know enough that I can help a friend and support a good cause; I can also use my studio, equipment and modest reach to assist. The Connecticut chapter of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) is looking for build a strike fund to assist workers through difficult times, now and going forward. Click the video below to watch the 2nd annual "Songs of the Working Class" event to see how you can support the cause as well! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uVaZ4bqClw
