Baby showers are the most fun event to plan! Our peach picnic themed event was perfect with mixed vintage China, checked tablecloths, a delicious southern inspired feast and live peach tree centerpieces! And our new recipe, Smoked Salmon Corn Cakes with a horseradish dill sauce... need I say more?!?! (photos by @befreedphotography)

After much discussion and prayer, we have decided to close to the general public for the foreseeable future. We will still do catering and event planning on a case by case basis. This decision was made in large part because of the verbal abuse and threats our staff have had to endure for the last 30 days since we reopened. As most of you know, due to our small size and designation by the state as a bar vs a restaurant, masks worn inside by customer not seated were required f...or us to be able to reopen. But a few have taken this requirement as an excuse to verbally assault and in some cases threaten physical harm to our staff. We have had multiple people come in each day we’ve been open for the sole purpose of screaming at staff over our mask requirements. I cannot and will not allow my staff to continue to suffer the ongoing verbal assaults and threats of physical harm by raving lunatics who think a piece of fabric during a global pandemic is somehow unreasonable or worthy of a rabid, steroidal level of rage. And as a Christian, Jesus' command to show love to our neighbors is superior to every rule, every law and every personal opinion, however misguided they may be. I personally think the God who gave us 2 chapters in the Bible on quarantine measures, including shaving your whole body, burning your belongings, destroying your house and isolating yourself forever, would consider wearing a mask to be a reasonable and logical effort to show love to our neighbors as the second greatest commandment, not seeking your own interests but that of others, so that they might be saved. (Leviticus 13, 14, Mark 12:31, Philippians 2:3, 4, 1 Corinthians 10:31-33) In the end, no amount of money is worth risking the emotional, mental or physical safety and well-being of my employees. For those who love us and have continued to support us through this difficult and unprecedented time, we thank you. Hopefully, the new year will bring a vaccine along with new and exciting adventures for us all. Until then, we will continue to pray for our community and especially for those who have been sick or lost loved ones to this pandemic.
