Free Book Drop for Kids (Ages 0-5) The Bulloch County Literacy Council is hosting a free drive-through book drop for children ages birth to five-years-old on Saturday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, in the Statesboro High School parking lot. Look for the Bulloch County Schools Book Bus. The event is to encourage families of young children to take time to read together to help improve pre-school literacy in Bulloch County and to help ensure children have access to books at... home. Families are invited to come pick up a bag of free books and early learning tips. Children are born learners. From birth, they learn the foundations of reading. Families and caregivers can help build early learning skills in babies, toddlers, and pre-school and early elementary children by simply reading to them a few minutes each day. Grab a good book and read today and make it fun by talking about the illustrations or having children find certain items in the pictures. The Bulloch County Literacy Council and Bulloch County Schools have multiple literacy initiatives including a Book Bus book mobile, a monthly literacy newsletter, reading nights and book fairs in our schools, and free book drop events. Thank you to the organizations that make up the Bulloch County Literacy Council for their efforts to serve the families and children of Bulloch County by encouraging reading and improving literacy: Bulloch County Schools, Ferst Readers of Bulloch County, the Altrusa Club, East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Safe Haven, the Statesboro Regional Library, Georgia Power Company, Kid's World Learning Center, and the Georgia Southern University College of Education.

2020 ELECTIONS NOTICE: The recount for the Bulloch County November 3rd Presidential Election began at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 24th and will continue on Wednesday, November 25th at 8:30 A.M. at the Bulloch County Annex located at 113 North Main Street. If additional days are necessary, recounting will resume on Monday, November 30th.
