BWP is pleased to announce that the UGA Georgia Veterans Legal Clinic has recently extended its efforts to include reaching veterans throughout the state. The program is called the Georgia Veterans Outreach Program. This program will deliver virtual legal clinics to veterans in underserved parts of Georgia. BWP partner Jim Butler made the lead gift to UGA to establish the Veterans Clinic & the Butler Commitment and continues to be a steadfast supporter of those who served in the U.S. military. As COVID-19 cases have continued to rise, BWP Cares is pleased for announce that we have begun receiving donations again so our meals will start being delivered again next week. Our heathcare heroes on the front lines have been fighting this pandemic day in & out, caring for the sick & for themselves for months. Sending them meals is a tiny way to send them our love & support & for them to know they have their community’s support. Butler Wooten & Peak is pleased to announce that partner Brandon Peak was selected by the Daily Report as one of three finalists for Georgia Attorney of the Year. The Attorney of the Year award goes to the attorney who had the biggest impact on the law or the Georgia legal community or who did the most to advance the cause of justice in 2019. Peak was recognized because of the record-breaking $280 million verdict he and a team from BWP obtained for their clients against a trucking company whose truck driver crossed the center line and killed five members of the clients’ family.
