With over 400 bottles on the list, one of my favorite questions is "how did you find this one?" My love story with Monte Quieto came out of one of my very first years of exploring South America. My friend Lucas Abihaggle introduced me to a winemaking couple, Matilde and Augustin, who were making incredible small-production wine. The style at the time was to make very modern wines and it was pervasive in the area-- but here they were making something with a far older soul: a Bordeaux style blend that was elegant & refined. They were pioneers in the area for using Cabernet Franc so deliberately. They have this wide view of the world and their wines and they put all of that into small batches.
