This year, lead them to an amazing future. Students who study piano are proven to perform better in school. And those who continue to play will also be more proficient in science and math - and of course bringing joy to those around them with music! If your child wants to start beginners lessons, look no further than the CAC! http://artsdouglas.org//piano-for-beginners-20-25-per-les/ #artsdouglas
WEDNESDAY FRIENDSDAY!!! Today we're sharing a sneak peek with our community! As we prepare to see a video experience of a community reacting to the artworks on January 11, let's get it started here.... Share what you think the woman is feeling?...How does the artwork make *you* feel? Internationally renowned artist Felicia Noelle is a woman of many talents, and from January 11-February 25 she is bringing one of those great talents to Douglasville, straight to the CAC gallery walls in the "Face Matter" exhibit! #artsdouglas

The CAC hosted its annual Gala and auction, virtually and in person, in November. We had a wonderful time celebrating and raising funds for the arts. Thank you to all of the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and attendees who made the night possible. Thank you Amy McCoy with My Hometown Realty for sponsoring the photography for the evening! #artsdouglas

If you received a DSLR camera this Christmas (or if you already have one) you'll need guided experience to go with it! When you learn how to make the most of your camera and pictures, you invest in making memories and giving gifts to others for years to come. http://artsdouglas.org/product/photography-101-2/ #artsdouglas

Unfortunately CAC Satellite, DC Connection was unable to hold its annual Kwanzaa Experience this year. Even though we can’t celebrate and learn in person we invite you to learn and take part from the comfort of your home. Kwanzaa is an African-Americans celebration of life from December 26th to January 1st. Kwanzaa is a Swahili word that means "first" and signifies the first fruits of the harvest. The primary symbols of Kwanzaa are the seven candles (Mishumaa Sabaa), whic...h represent the seven principles. The seven principles of Kwanzaa utilize Kiswahili words: unity (umoja), self-determination (kujichagulia), collective work and responsibility (ujima), cooperative economics (ujamaa), purpose (nia), creativity (kuumba), and faith (imani). Wishing you moments of light, peace, and happiness that lasts all through the coming year. Happy Kwanzaa! #artsdouglas #Kwanzaa #DCconnection #Cultural
Happy New Year’s Eve! Tell us one good thing that’s happened to you in 2020. There is always something to be grateful for...like 2021!
The "Face Matter" exhibit begs the question, what are we made of? And what are we born to make? Felicia Noelle, Diyah Najah, Timothy Short, and Brandon Maddox share their creations, exhibiting breathtaking artworks in the show that celebrates artists of color this January and February, 2021. With various styles and various art forms, this group show exemplifies a unified message - the freedom to express as a creator.... On January 11, a virtual experience will debut in place of a reception. The virtual event will post on social media and Artsdouglas.org. Watch and react as you view special interviews with the artists. Be a part of the experience, and make sure to visit for a tour before the exhibit ends February 25. #artsdouglas

Now we're asking again for a new year of visions! Join in the poll as we ask you, our community, "What do you want to paint with us this year?"... Post your poll in the comments - let us hear directly from you. #artsdouglas
