The Norton’s... what a sweet couple. They just left with their brand new Viking pop-up. Mr. Norton did his research, shopped lots of dealerships and pop-up brands and, after coming to check it out lots of times, decided the Viking brand was the one he wanted. He drove from south of Atlanta just to come to us. This couple used to camp many years ago and have had everything from a pop-up to a large travel trailer. Now that Mrs. Norton faces some aging issues, Mr. Norton says ...he wants to care for her by doing what they love best- camping. He says he wants them to make memories with the time they have. I have to tell you the sweetest story. This little boy was in love with this camper from the first time he saw it, but due to several things, his parents weren’t sure they could go for it right now. So, they told him it wasn’t going to work out. We worked with them and were able to make it work. Then they told him it was sold. It WAS sold... to THEM. So today, his dad tells him to go for a ride with him. And they pull up here. The little boy still didn’t know the camper they ...were getting was the one he wanted. I wish I had gotten a photo of his face when he found out it was his. This job never gets old. I always get as excited as they do, I think. Made my day!! A tropical storm warning meant a bit of a frantic afternoon at Camp Oaks! We somehow fit four campers in our shop. Until now, we didn’t even know a 29’ trailer would fit in our shop! But it does! Along with three pop-ups! We closed in slides, put in awnings and did the best we could to button down the hatches. Is that the saying? (Just googled it, it’s batten. That makes more sense!) Stay safe out there! We hope nothing happens, but if it does, don’t forget, we are happy to help with insurance quotes after the storm!

I love when we get to see our customers having fun camping! The Capes bought a new 2020 Catalina from us last year and yesterday they called Aaron to help troubleshoot some electrical issues. The lights weren’t working on their trailer. The wife messaged me this photo to let me know that the troubleshooting over the phone worked, all is well and they were already at their campsite. She said they love the campground and the site is amazing, beautiful, isolated and peaceful. We love when you let us follow along on your adventures! Buying the camper is just the beginning with Camp Oaks... not the ending. CAMPING should be the most fun end result and it makes my job worth it when I know you are out there having fun!! On this last day of the month, I want to congratulate the new families that joined our Camp Oaks family this month! Ethan and Jessica are taking their new to them Jayco to Disney World! We are jealous already of the fun they will have at Fort Wilderness! Dave and Carol (not pictured) have lots of retirement fun to be had in their hybrid.... Bryan and Rebecca are using their trailer to live in! Their new to them Jayco is perfect for the family property they hope to build on in a few years. And then Morgan is hoping to take her small 13’ hybrid out west to see the great U.S. while she is young and free to travel where the road goes! Welcome to the Camp Oaks family!! This weekend we were sitting by a campfire watching the hamburgers on the grill, at the oldest state park in Georgia (as my dad liked to keep telling me), a place where I grew up camping, when he leaned over and said, Don’t you love that you have a job where you get to help other families do this, enjoy life and make memories together? And you know what, I do. I really do. On a less personal note, it was also really cool to see one of our trailers set up, happy in her camp...site, right by the creek, right where she was always meant to be. I got to see it because it belongs to a family member now, but this same trailer is coming next week (already sold to a customer). Shhh... the owners don’t know I snuck personal photos inside their trailer, but who can resist that amazing master closet!!
