Camp Vinson Valley 24.02.2021

Camp Update, May 5th, 2020 To Camp Vinson Valley Families, We are praying that you and your entire family have been able to stay healthy and well during this time. Over the past few weeks Camp Staff and leadership at Byron United Methodist Church have been in discussion about whether our Camp program could operate safely, despite concerns over COVID-19. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have decided to not have Camp this Summer. ... This decision was made in consultation with camp leaders and resources across the State and comes after exploring every option within our capacity to ensure safety for your campers on our campus. While not an easy one to make, I do believe that this decision is necessary to protect the health and well-being of every camper and Camp Staff. We will be issuing full refunds for all money paid towards registration. Our registration team will begin contacting every registered family in within the next couple of weeks. I appreciate your patience as we sort those out. We will be in touch this Summer with you and your campers through social media and other online channels, so be sure to follow us on Facebook as we will begin sharing some more info on that soon. Ain’t no rock gonna cry in my place, as long as I’m alive I’ll glorify His Holy Name! -a personal favorite Camp song To our campers we want to say we love and miss you and cannot wait until we can be together again singing our Camp songs. We are praying for you in so many ways, see you soon. Sincerely, Jesse Thompson Camp Director May 5 2020

Dear Camp Vinson Valley Families, We are praying that you are staying healthy and well during this time. I want to take a second to update you on where Camp stands in relation to the continued spread of COVID-19. The Camp Board and leadership at Byron United Methodist Church are actively contingency planning and considering what is best for our program over the next several months. We feel it is currently best to pause registration for Camp Vinson Valley, pending a final dec...ision on scheduling and operation for 2020. A final decision will be made early next week concerning this Summer. While Camp has not been cancelled at this time, we want you to be aware that safety on our campus is our primary driver in making this decision. We are looking at recommendations from National, State, and Local authorities, as well as organizations around the country that operate in a similar capacity to ours to determine what is best for our program. In the event of any changes or cancellation you will be notified immediately by written letter and email, as well as digitally on Facebook and our website. Also, know that in the event of any cancellation we will be issuing full refunds. As always, we are praying for you and your campers. We are so looking forward to when we can all get together again. Please know that any decision is not one made in haste, and without the utmost concern for what is best for our Camp and our community. We love y’all and will continue to stay in touch. Sincerely, Jesse Thompson Camp Director Camp Vinson Valley

Hey everybody, I wanted to offer an update about where Camp Vinson Valley 2020 stands in light of the recent news concerning the continued spread of COVID-19. The Camp Board, Church leaders, and myself are all paying very close attention to updates from local, state, and national government in terms of how best to proceed over the coming weeks and months. Currently there are no changes to Camp’s plans to operate a full schedule this Summer. As always, the health and well-bein...g of our campers is our number one priority, and we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that we adjust our program accordingly if necessary. We are still taking registration by email at [email protected]. We are postponing payment of the registration-fee to make this process as easy as possible. If for some reason the 2020 Camp Season is interrupted, we will be issuing full refunds for the weeks of Camp missed. If you have any questions at all about Camp please feel free to reach out by email or here on Facebook. We’re praying for your campers as they adjust to the new school regimen, and we hope to see them this Summer! -Jesse, Camp Director

Important update: In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Byron United Methodist Church Office will be CLOSED until further notice. Camp Vinson Valley leaders, as well as leaders from BUMC, are closely monitoring any and all updates from Governmental leadership at how best to proceed over the course of the year. At this time, we believe our 2020 Camp schedule will not be affected. However, adjustments may be made to accommodate any altered school schedules in the Middle... Georgia area. We are still accepting registrations for Camp Vinson Valley 2020 and are temporarily postponing payment of the Registration-Fee in order to facilitate email registration. To register for Camp, email a copy of your registration paper work to [email protected]. Registration is not final until you have received a confirmation email in return, so be on the look out for communication from us! Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We will be active in responding to emails at [email protected] and messages here on Facebook, if you have any Camp questions at all please do not hesitate to reach out. We will be in contact with the local school systems as the summer approaches to ensure that we can provide the best care for your campers as possible. Thank you again, Jesse Thompson Camp Director
