Hello River Runners! We want to Thank everyone for their support this past season. We will be OPEN in the upcoming month of October on weekends only. The Lower Chestatee will be the only trip available. This Saturday (9/26) we will have our Annual Used Canoe and Kayak Sale at 9 am. The details of the equipment sale can be viewed at the bottom of our website home page. The river levels remain good for some great Fall paddling. So come on up to Dahlonega and join us on the river this October!

Good news! Appalachian Outfitters will also begin Dawson Forest trips on June 6th. This remote and beautiful 9 mile section of the Etowah River is a special place. An easy paddle with gentle rapids between Rock Creek Park in Dawsonville and Kelly Bridge access. We offer a 10 am and 12 pm for river enthusiast who the peace and quiet of a more remote stretch of river. Here are the details as we have some new rules for 2020. *A minimum of 4 customers and maximum of 14 at 10 am o...r 12. At last! A rain free weekend. We are OPEN for Canoeing, Kayaking and Tubing on the Chestatee River. We will begin Dawson Forest trips next weekend. See you on the river. AO Staff

Hello from Dahlonega. Despite much work by the AO staff to get our Tubing trips up and running for today we will NOT be able to open. Rain again last night has raised the river level up too high for tubing. We will post further updates on the homepage of our website. AO Staff

Hey Everyone. We are going to OPEN for the season a week earlier than expected. We will now begin on Friday May 8th. See you on the river soon. AO Staff

The staff at Appalachian Outfitters are getting ready to begin river trips soon. Finally after sheltering in place the decline in the coronavirus infections are dropping. We will officially wait now another 14 days and begin on May 15th to be even safer. However we don't want to waste all the progress we have made while staying at home and not take precautions. So our normal operation of course will have to change. We are encouraging customers to reserve and prepay for trips ahead of time. We will have to follow social distancing practices as we get everyone on and off the the river. Details of our plan of operation is on our website canoegeorgia.com. Until then stay safe Georgia!
