Earlier this morning, Hurricane Sally came ashore near Gulf Shores, Alabama as a category 2 hurricane. The expected path of the storm has it moving in a somewhat northeasterly path across Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. As a result, a large part of our CareMaster service area is expected to see rain heavy at times with significant rainfall totals. The NOAA charts that follow show the path and expected rainfall totals as Hurricane Sally traverses our service area. ... All CareMaster caregivers and nurses should be extremely careful driving today and tomorrow as the storm passes through their area. In addition, everyone should monitor local flooding reports for the roads in their driving area, and exercise caution when approaching bridges over streams and rivers. Tom Holder - shared John Sweet, a wonderful friend, mentor, neighbor and workers' compensation attorney, recently died. Kids' Chance is looking to establish scholarships in his honor. That is a most fitting recognition of his lifetime of work to improve the WC System. John died on May 24, 2020, when he lost his valiant battle against Parkinson’s ...disease. John was admired and respected by all sections of the workers’ compensation community. I have never known a finer man or a better lawyer. John was a supporter of Kids’ Chance from the very beginning and for years acted as the auctioneer when we held a live auction at Sea Palms during the annual ICLE workers’ compensation seminar.
