We had such a great first day of Tuck Everlasting retreat! Playing games, learning choreo, studying the Word together... It's been a great day!

Students in the PESS ( Pre-Engineering and Space Science) class are studying a unit on biotechnology. Mr. Tymes’ class completed a laboratory exercise that involved DNA fingerprinting and other forensic techniques. Each student and the instructor represented the suspects in a murder. DNA profiles were analyzed in the lab to determine the murderer. Mr. Tymes then assigned students as defense and prosecution attorneys and... staged a jury trial to determine the fate of the suspected murderer. The DNA profiles of all suspects were matched with DNA from the crime scene. Students were able to apply the scientific procedures in a "real-world" authentic learning opportunity. See more

Come meet our CCS Faculty and Staff! First up, let us introduce our Headmaster, Jim Koan II. Years at Calvary Christian School: 4 Memorable Moment at CCS?... "I have two moments that come to mind, my son's graduation from Calvary in 2018 and the graduation of the class of 2020. Last year's graduation was special as it reflected the perseverance of the school and students, and it was an unique opportunity to offer our students an in-person graduation when many weren't able to. My son's graduation was also special as he had attended several schools in 4 states, but had the opportunity to graduate from a place we feel like is home. It is satisfying for me as a dad that he is able to identify as a Calvary graduate, a place that is so special to him." Who inspired you growing up? "My fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Sayers, showed me how to be a Christian in a public, secular setting. She gave me my first opportunity to teach as a senior in high school. She allowed me to teach music to her fifth grade class, and after that experience I decided I wanted to be a teacher." Advice for current CCS students? "Get all you can out of your Calvary experience: get as involved and connected as you can. The 2022 Spring Break trip to Barcelona and Paris will be open to students who will be in grades 9-12 in the 2021-2022 school year [currently 8th-11th graders] who have taken or are taking world language courses. Today, Mr. Pate told our lower school students a story about the light of the cross and students got to play pumpkin games and do pumpkin experiments. Our seniors got to pie Mr. Cook, Mr. Yarbrough and Mr. Koan as part of our celebration of seniors at today’s pep rally!

Update to tomorrow night's game! Join us at 7:30 p.m. for our Senior Night game at Kinnett Stadium, 7160 Schomburg Rd. Columbus, GA 31909! We will honor our seniors and the booster club will conduct the raffle ticket drawing. This night is also a celebration of our Arts and Athletics. Our award-winning cast will perform a One-Act play, Arkansaw Bear, at 5:45 p.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church worship center. The show runs only 50 minutes, giving attendees plenty of time to h...ead over to the Varsity football game at 7:30 p.m. Arkansaw Bear is a family-friendly show for all ages! This marvelous and daring play tells the story of a little girl named Tish, who has just discovered that her grandfather is dying. She runs away to her special tree, wishes upon a star, and escapes to a fantastical world of music, magic and dance. There she meets the world’s greatest dancing bear, who is also running away from death. In trying to help him, Tish begins to understand the meaning of life and death and learns how to cope with her own sadness.

Our One Act team, directed by Mrs. Caitlyn Melton, went to regions today and brought home first place! Two of our students also brought home Outstanding Actor Awards! Please help us congratulate Ryan Wommack and Arabella Evangelista! Come see them Friday at 5:45 p.m. followed by the Varsity football game at 7:30 p.m.
