Many schools had been scheduled to end chess club at the end of April and the first of May; instead, chess classes have been extended through May 15. If you tried to get into the World of Chess and found it closed, please, try again.

World of Chess Stay at-Home Studies: an innovative, alternative way to learn chess during this time of social distancing. We have completed successfully another week of Championship Chess Online Classes and our numbers keep growing! We are into our 4th week of online classes. ... Classes are broken up by ability level and will continue through the end of the school year. Participants get great instruction from Championship Chess coaches without leaving home! The 2020 East Metro ATL Team State Qualifier was held Saturday, February 22 at Chamblee High School. The top School Teams from this qualifying tournament are invited to the State Team Championships Our Montgomery Team tied for 3rd place; our Talley Street School tied for 5th place but won 5th on the tiebreaking system used by the U S Chess Federation. February 2020 Winter Blast We held our 7th Annual Winter Blast on Saturday February 8th and had our Winter-est Winter Blast ever! The beautiful snow fell for several hours in Norcross, GA, giving our players time to play in it. We had 180 participants registered before the snow; late onsite registrations hit our 190-player cap. Evansdale Elementary Invitational Tournament Evansdale Elementary School (DeKalb County) held its 4th annual Invitational Tournament November 22, 2018. All 24 players were from Evansdale Elementary. Ben Bitsko took 1st place, Daniel Montel took 2nd place and Seth Overway came in third. The other players in the photo with Coach Rodney Lewis received medals for plus scores.
