Any of my friends got an 8ft flagpole I can borrow for 7/8 November for our photography workshop? Lowes flagpoles are too short to ride with flag in a flagholder/in stirrup !

Halter or bridle??.or naked?? For stallions I love a blingy show halter like Playboy is wearing here, for others a simple bridle is fine - as long as your horse isn't an excessive chewer! And for the really well behaved horse, they can go nakedwell, not really - the secret is that we use a thin halter that can be edited out by the Photo Shop fairies afterwards, keeping everyone safe and relaxed. Which means that even fidgety ponies can be captured in all of their bare glory :-)

I love it when I get to see my clients final artwork on their walls! Here we have a gorgeous golden hour portrait of Lisa and her sweet mare, Grace. Lisa decided on hang this over the beautiful desk that was passed down to her by her father. What family heirlooms do you have in your home?

I just love these candid shots from a very special session I did recently! The kids thought that they signed up for a portrait session with mom, dad and mom's new horse. Little did they know that their parents had two rather large, hairy surprises up their sleeve. Little Jack and Lola have now found their forever homes with the Cranmer family but are still enjoying life right here on the ranch! Did you know that we have style guide specifically written for our clients? It contains a whole host of tips and info on how to select a color palette and coordinate your family's outfits for the different seasons, taking a lot of stress off Mom!

Who owns unusual pets? I would love to photograph some owners with their non-horse/dog pets! Such as goats, pigs, alpacas!! Tell me what you have and I might just find my way to your house/farm to photograph them! This little guy was at the Chiltern Open Air Museum during our last trip to the UK!

To braid or not to braid? That is the question! My answer - Whichever you prefer! Some clients love to have their horse prepared as if showing, while other like a more relaxed look. Since many of my clients are from out of town, I don't always get to see their reactions when they get to see their gorgeous portraits on canvas for the first time. The Cranmer family just picked up their portraits and as an added bonus for me, were kind enough to send me some pictures of them hanging on the wall at home!

Check out Savannah having a blast with her mare, Mystic in the pond! We got many beautiful shots but I think this one depicts how much fun the pair have together, both on and off camera! Whats your dream location for a portrait session with your horse?

Although most of my clients are women and girls, I do love to photograph a cowboy once in a while! While my posing prompts are less likely to be along the lines of "You look gorgeous! Now giggle over your shoulder!", guys - fear not, I can still make you look great in your portraits!

I captured this on the River Avon during our trip to the UK. I think it would make a great book cover! Sadly 2020 didn't allow is to go again this year. Where are you itching to travel to next?

My Black Background sessions are typically reserved for 4 legged creatures only but occasionally a client will hop in and grab a portrait with their horse too! Black background portrait sessions can be booked separately (horse only) or added on before your a horse & rider portrait session for a special discounted rate!
