In an effort to curb vandalism, enhance security and protect pedestrian use along Alex Cooley Drive, the Chastain Park Conservancy has partnered with the City o...f Atlanta to install temporary water barricades along Alex Cooley Drive. The goal is to allow access to park patrons who enjoy the north part of the park while detering vehicle racing, donuts and illegal gatherings / vandalism. This is part of our security efforts which include installation of LED lighting, new security cameras and police patrol. Golf Course Cart paths are now open for walking and jogging - please be mindful of the greens when using the course. NOTICE: Golf Course Cart Path Trails Open for Public Use As of today the Chastain Golf Course Cart Paths are open for public use. This decision was made in an... effort to provide additional walking areas while encouraging social distancing measures. Thank you to City Council and Parks Commissioner for opening up the course. Please be judicious as you enjoy the park: 1) Maintain social distance - 6' feet recommended 2) Do not congregate (keep moving) and 3) Keep the park neat (bring doggie bags with you!) Let's all do our part to flatten the curve and maintain our resources. Please stay tuned for any new updates on park closures or additional park use virus prevention measures.
