Volunteer Joe Mitchell delivered books to the Arthur M. Blank Family Youth YMCA Childcare Center. This center has served the children of health care workers throughout the pandemic. We are so thankful to their entire staff.

Children Read is continuing our book donations throughout the summer through partnerships with The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, Horizons Atlanta and LaAmistad, Inc. These organizations are doing crucial work right now distributing food and other essentials to families in need. Please consider making a donation to these important causes! Sydney Ahearn, Director of Early Learning at Atlanta Public Schools, picked up 1,200 books from Children Read. The books will be distributed on Monday. We are so happy to be able to continue our mission of getting books into the hands of our young children in these unusual times!

Newsletter April 2020 Hi, Like the whole world, Children Read is in place. We miss being out there giving books to our little friends. Our work space is just waiting for us to resume when the all clear sounds.... We had several wonderful donations right before the pandemic hit. The Atlanta Women’s Club came by with a terrific donation and stayed to work. We also had books donated by Jeff and Kenzie and the folks at The Primrose School who did a very successful drive. Margaret and her people at Peachtree Publishers stuffed our rooms with a gigantic trove of brand new beautiful books. The almost 2,000 books are waiting to be stuffed into our book bags. We have lots of work waiting for us. We look forward for happier time. Stay safe. Marlene, Cindy, and the intrepid group.

Hoping all our volunteers and followers are staying sane in these strange times! We are looking forward to getting back to work as soon as it's safe.

Thank you to the congregation of Lawrenceville First Baptist Church for donating 1,496 BOOKS!!! All we had to do was pack them up and take them to our cars. And the snow didn’t stop our 5 wonderful volunteers!
