Reminder: Join us for Kid’s Story Time on Thurs, Nov. 12 from 4:30 5:30 pm with Chamblee resident Gina Gallois for a reading of her book Mother Opossum’s Misadventures about a mother opossum who has to go on an adventure to find her babies. Gina will teach your children about opossums, and also will keep them engaged while having fun! After the reading, Gina will answer any questions about her story and writing books, as well as give you the chance to purchase the book. Pre-registration is required to ensure social distancing. Weather permitting; Georgia Department of Transportation continues to improve highway infrastructure throughout metropolitan Atlanta and statewide. As a result, work on construction and maintenance projects will continue this weekend, especially on GA400 and I-285. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, expect delays and seek alternate routes. Part of the Shallowford Rd Exit and the bridge on I-85 is closed because of a gas leak on the DeKalb County side of the exit. A HERO unit has the southbound exit ramp completely blocked. The Northeast Expressway is still open, but the turnaround southbound to northbound is shut down. It’s currently expected to be shut down for at least 8 to 10 hours.

Reminder: City offices will be closed on Wed, Nov 11 in honor of Veterans Day. If your trash and recycle day is Wednesday, it will be picked up on Thurs, Nov 12. All other pickup days will remain the same.
