Homeowner’s Associations are governing bodies that lay out rules for neighborhoods and condominium developments. HOAs provide many benefits for homeowners but may come with certain restrictions as well. If your potential home is overseen by an HOA organization, your Hester Group agent will help you find the rules and regulations of the neighborhood before moving so that you don’t encounter any surprises after moving in. Home Tip Tuesday If you took our advice last week and decided to change up some of the colors in your home, here are a couple of quick tips to help smooth out the process. 1. Be sure to clean the area you would like to paint over with a deglosser or prepaint cleaner before you apply paint to any surface. Painting on dirty or oily surfaces increases the chances of chipping and peeling. ... 2. Use the correct primer for the job. If you're painting drywall, use a water based primer. If you're painting paneling or water damaged walls, it's best to go with an oil based primer. 3. If the wall you are attempting to paint is not in the best condition, try opting for a textured paint.
