It’s the start of March and that means the kickoff to Women’s History Month! Coke’s history is filled with countless stories of female leaders and trailblazers, whose work has led to unparalleled greatness. Here we highlight a moment with Eileen Collins, pictured here with the Coca-Cola space dispenser in the 1995 Discovery Shuttle mission. In this mission, Collins was actually the first female Shuttle pilot in US history. Collins went on to become the first female Shuttle co...mmander in the 1999 Columbia mission. . . . The Coca-Cola space dispenser debuted in 1985 when Coke became the first soft drink ever consumed in space. . . . . #womenshistorymonth #archives #archivesofinstagram #cokearchives #cocacola #thecocacolacompany #thingsgobetterwithcoke See more

A new acquisition in the Coca-Cola Archives and a nod to our friends at Delta Airlines. This airline cooler was restored and now sits in our Archives. What a great addition to the collection and storytelling between our two Atlanta based companies. Be sure to have an ice-cold Coca-Cola on your next Delta flight! #cocacolacompany #deltaairlines #atlantahistorycenter

In 1984, two years prior to the national observance, Roberto Goizueta announced The Coca-Cola Company would, in 1985, begin observance of the January holiday in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. With a long standing pride for Dr. King and his work for the Civil Rights movement and a strong sense of sorrow for the native Atlantan’s passing, the leaders of The Coca-Cola Company felt a need to initiate the holiday observance early. We remember today and everyday the les...sons and legacy of Dr. King. . . . . EOM from January 13, 1984. . . . #cokearchives #cocacola #cocacolacompany #mlk #mlk2020 #archivesofinstagram See more

Exciting day here @thecocacolaco as we finally unveil the completed Central Reception Building at our headquarters in Atlanta. This project has been at the forefront of our time and energy the last year and a half and we are so proud to have such a presence at the front door of our global HQ. Here is a peek at 2 prominent places in the building - the first being the recreation of Mr. Robert Woodruff’s office as well as a storytelling of his legacy that continues to arc to o...ur purpose today. The second is of the Yellow Delivery Truck that greets associates and visitors alike as they enter the building. The truck is actually a vehicle produced by the White Motor Company, the Company for whom Mr. Woodruff was the VP before coming to lead the Coca-Cola Company in 1923. We hope this reimagined space will surprise and delight all who come through our campus and offer new insights into our past future. . . . . . #crbrefreshed #thecocacolacompany #cokearchives #archivesofinstagram #thingsgobetterwithcoke @ The Coca-Cola Company See more

As the adage goes - Double your pleasure, double your fun! We just received this new acquisition today in the archives and can’t help but be reminded of the Doublemint Twins from the Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum ads from the 30’s. This piece was created by artist Haddon Sundblom while the Company was still working with D’Arcy Advertising during the 40s. . . . .... . #cokearchives #cocacola #thecocacolacompany #thingsgobetterwithcoke See more

Today Coca-Cola celebrates 100 years as a publicly traded Company. In 1919 Asa Candler sold the business to a group of investors led by Ernest Woodruff, who quickly initiated the public offering for $40 a share. Today that share would be worth over 18 million dollars! To commemorate this auspicious occasion, James Quincey is ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange. . . . .... #cokearchives #thecocacolacompany #newyorkstockexchange #nyse #koipo100 See more

#OTD in 1889 a man named Robert Winship Woodruff was born. Also known as Mr. Anonymous around Atlanta and fondly known as The Boss at The Coca-Cola Company, Mr. Woodruff was elected President of Coca-Cola in 1923 and dedicated more than six decades of his life to the Company until his passing in 1985. During his tenure, he transformed the business into a global icon, standardized the drink and its significance to consumers, saw countless innovative products and ideas find... success, and made an unprecedented philanthropic impact on our community in Atlanta and subsequently around the world. To say Mr. Woodruff was an icon himself would be an understatement. The archives team has had the privilege to work on a tremendous project around Mr. Woodruff and his legacy that we cannot wait to share with you at the beginning of the year. For now though we hope you will join us in raising a Coke in honor of Mr. Woodruff and check out the following link to learn more about his legacy: https://www.coca-colacompany.com//the-chronicle-of-coca-co . We are thankful today and everyday for the brave men and women who have served for the United States After the United States entry into WWII, Robert Woodruff ordered to see that every man in uniform gets a bottle of Coca-Cola for 5 cents, wherever he is and whatever it costs the Company. That promise represents the steadfast respect and support the Company has and always will have for our Military. #VeteransDay Photo from 1944 - men of the 133rd on the front lines of th...e San Michele area in Italy drink Coca-Cola for the first time in over a year. . . . . . #cocacola #cokearchives #cocacolacompany #archivesofinstagram #veteransday2019 #thingsgobetterwithcoke See more

Happy October! Did you know October is American Archives month? This month we will be sharing facts and stories from the Coca-Cola Archives. . The Coca-Cola Archives was established in 1939 from a collection of advertising pieces featuring the Coca-Cola trademark to protect it from other brands attempting to sell imitations. 80 years later, the collection has grown to over 200,000 catalogued unique items, valued at over $100 million, ranging in objects from audio-visual ma...terials and original works of art to historical packaging from all over the world and rare memorabilia. If you laid out all our shelves end to end it would be equal to 2.4 miles, and if every flat file was laid out end to end you’d have 2 football fields. Today the Archives serve the global operations of The Coca-Cola Company, working with brand teams, research and development, global design, public affairs, marketing, and customer teams. . Check back with us throughout the month to see some of our favorite objects and learn more about the work of the Archives! . . . . #archives #cokearchives #archivesofinstagram #AmericanArchivesMonth #thingsgobetterwithcoke See more
