Nickel’s family shared the cutest adoption update with us recently! Nickel arrived at our shelter last fall after we suspect he was hit by a car. He was quickly adopted to a loving home where he has made a great recovery and now goes by Hans! He keeps very busy with lots of hikes, training and doggy daycare. Hans has blossomed into the sweetest boy ever! Although, according to his family, a big growth spurt has now made it so Hans can open the automatic trash can with his head. \_()_/

Temporary hardship shouldn’t result in a pet being separated from their loving family. LifeLine’s new Safety Net Foster program will assist families by connecting their pet with a foster home while they are unable to care for them due to financial instability, eviction, incarceration, hospitalization, or during a crisis. This new program will prevent family pets from being unnecessarily surrendered and help keep people and pets together. If you can open your home to a family pet in need of a temporary place to stay or you need a temporary foster home for your pet, please visit LifeLineAnimal.org/safetynet.

When lost pets arrive at our shelter, reuniting them with their families is the ultimate goal! At 12 years old, Little Girl had been lost for two months when she was spotted in the community and brought to us by an Animal Service Officer. Thankfully, Little Girl was microchipped! We were able to contact her owner immediately who broke down in tears when we shared the good news - her baby had been found. Our team made sure Little Girl was up-to-date on vaccines and given a clean bill of health. Very soon after arriving, Little Girl was headed home with her family! It was a truly joyful reunion and one our team was happy to have been a part of. #TheHASSLife #AnimalShelteringReimagined

We are thrilled to report that Shaggy, who spent more than a year in our shelter’s care, is a long-timer no more! Shaggy, who’s new name is Diesel, has found complete bliss in the arms of his forever family. They recently shared with us that Shaggy is doing great and is the BEST addition to their home! He plays so well with their 3 young boys and always knows when it’s time for cuddles. We wish Diesel and his new family the happiest life together!

UPDATE 11/08: A big THANK YOU to everyone who has donated toward Abel's care, shared his post or sent Abel their well wishes! He is now back with us resting and recovering under our clinic's care. For those of you who have expressed interested in bringing Abel home, he is still under close observation by our team and not quite ready to be released. We ask that you please email [email protected] for more information in that regard. Thank you so much! Our team m...et Abel this week and instantly fell in love with his sweet eyes and gentle demeanor! Unfortunately, he was brought to the emergency vet the other night when we noticed how uncomfortable and unsteady he was when trying to lay down. They discovered that he has a serious case of food bloat likely from eating scraps as a stray for so long. They are currently monitoring his condition and we are hopeful that Abel will return to us soon feeling much better! Despite Abel’s rough start in life, we are determined to give him a happy new beginning. Your support will help us do just that for him. Donate today to help Abel and the many animals like him who are currently in our care.
