Thank you so much for Viola Davis for taking the time to recognize my work. I’m typing this message between my tears. I’ve always flown below the radar but in a fighter jet, no less. I understand that as a black woman, surgeon business owner and single mother from a single mother growing up in the inner city, I am an anomaly to most. However, the work that I’m doing as a cancer surgeon is paying homage to people and the process. So I appreciate you for being the epitome of grace and grit. Women like you are the wind beneath my wings. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting people know I DO Exist, Black Excellence is Real and that Women can do anything not just on Wednesday but everyday! If I can ever help join forces to encourage our young and old women, it would only be a pleasure.
