Many of our patients ask us how they can make sure their young children are eating right! A balanced and nutritious diet for your child is important for so many different reasons. Sure, food nourishes the body and provides energy to grow and explore, but learning what to eat (plus when and how much) is an important aspect of developing and reaching milestones. Don’t make your child clean his or her plate at every meal. What’s most important is to offer food on a schedule an...d try to stick to that. Offer new foods at the start of meals when your child is hungrier and offer the new foods with foods they are already familiar with. Be a role model for healthy eating habits! Cook the same meal for the entire family. Don’t use food as a reward. Encourage kids to participate in grocery shopping and helping in the kitchen. Continue to offer foods even if they did not like them the first time. Don’t give up! The goal should always be as little added sugars as possible! Starting good habits early is best way to pave the road to good health for your children! Do your HANDS and FEET feel COLD all winter long? Ginger is a great go-to remedy to boost circulation! You can easily make a ginger infusion using either dried or fresh ginger root. If using fresh ginger, a couple of slices in a cup of boiling water left to steep for five minutes or so will do the trick, or you can use six to eight slices in a teapot and keep refreshing with water.
