Dear DHYS Family- Thanks for your patience as we work through the COVID-19 situation. We are evaluating options for a Spring-like Season in the summer once governmental and public health organizations determine it is safe to do so. Scenarios for this season are dependent on the timing of returning to the fields, and to assist with this planning we are seeking feedback from all players/families on desire and availability to participate in a DHYS program during the summer ...months and ask that you complete the following survey for each of your players. Dear DHYS Families and Players- Thank you for your continued patience and support as we have monitored the COVID-19 situation and its unprecedented impact on our baseball and softball programs. Given the extension through the end of April of shelter in place and public health emergency orders for the state, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all remaining Spring Season activities. We are working through many details specific to the end of the Spring Season and cha...nges we are contemplating for a more robust Summer Season than our usual sandlot program. Additional updates will be provided on the following as quickly as possible: Options for fees previously paid for the Spring Season for all leagues will be determined and communicated following our final accounting of expenses incurred during and for the Spring Season. Full consideration of options for summer leagues. We hope to offer a spring-like season in June and/or July, as well as our normal tournament team program, if at all possible. Please know that we are saddened by the need to make this decision. We know how much our DHYS families look forward to and enjoy our Spring Season, and how much the practices, games and other activities associated with spring baseball and softball mean to all of us. We sincerely hope it will be safe to return to the fields this summer, and look forward to all of you joining us in participation (and celebration) when that time arrives. DHYS Board of Directors

Dear DHYS Families and Players- All DHYS activities remained postponed this includes team games and practices, Tournament Team tryouts, and all other DHYS activities. At this point, all activities through Sunday, April 12th are canceled. We continue to monitor updates from the CDC, Georgia Department of Public Health, and DeKalb Board of Health and intend to restart baseball and softball as soon as it is reasonable to do so. League leaders are regularly assessing the sit...uation and have been working through different contingency plans and options for the Spring season once we are able to safely return to the fields. Due to the rapidly escalating developments with COVID-19, all DHYS activities will be postponed indefinitely beginning Friday, March 13th. This includes all games, practices, clinics, meetings, and all other team activities at any of the DHYS facilities. Opening Night Ceremonies, which were scheduled for next Friday, March 20th, will be rescheduled at a later date. We will reassess the situation weekly and communicate to the DHYS community when circumstances change. We continue to monitor updates from the CDC, Georgia Department of Public Health, and DeKalb Board of Health and intend to resume the Spring season as soon as it reasonable to do so. Huge DHYS Weekend! DHYS Families- This weekend is a HUGE weekend as we get ready for the Spring season. See below for all the planned activities.... Field Day Saturday 2/8 9am to 1pm Please make plans to join us at Medlock Park or Decatur First Baptist Church this Saturday 9am to 1pm for our Spring Season Field Day to get the fields and facilities in great shape for the season. There will be plenty to do on the fields, batting cages, and in the common areas surrounding the fields. Bring work gloves and wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Also, bring blowers, weed eaters, pole saws, and anything else you might have that would facilitate cleaning up. DHYS Shop Days at Dick’s Saturday 2/8 and Sunday 2/9 DHYS is celebrating with a League Shop Day at DICK’S Sporting Goods! On Saturday February 8th and Sunday February 9th, DICK’S Sporting Goods will hold a special Shop Day at both the Lenox and Tucker locations for all of our participating players, coaches and their family members to help you gear up for the season. Preseason Clinics at D-Bat Saturday 2/8 and Sunday 2/9 Get your player a head start on the Spring season with a preseason skills clinic at D-Bat Perimeter.
