What a gift to celebrate the Easter season as a community! Our kindergarten students have worked hard to memorize Matthew 28:1-6 (see our stories for a video!), our third grade students will be sharing a Seder meal tomorrow, and our student body gathered for chapel this morning. Our Easter chapel was a beautiful time of worship, contemplation of the cross, and a powerful message from Dr. Hull. Enjoy a glimpse!
Our fourth grade students have been learning about allegory in their novel study of C.S. Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This week they are creating their own wardrobes with a hidden list of common traits between the character of Aslan and the life of Jesus.
Smiles for days! Our Spring Fling was a night of adventure, incredible food from local vendors, and laughter with friends! Thank you to the PTF for all you did to host this wonderful event!
This week our fourth grade STEM classes are learning about renewable energy. After learning about the pros and cons of using wind power from wind farms, our students created wind machines of their own! Enjoy a glimpse into their classroom!
We are all smiles about this warmer weather! Happy Wednesday, ECS community!
Our second grade STEM classes are learning about the types of clouds. After a visit outside to observe and make real-world connections with what they had just learned, the students used cotton balls to depict the different cloud types.
Our JV boys played with character and heart against Mt. Paran Christian this evening! Go Lions!
The sounds of learning are filling our halls this morning! Welcome back from Christmas break!

Mrs. Holland’s fourth grade students used their extra Halloween candy to complete a math packet on factors, fractions, multiples, and more! Our students were even able to spread out across the classroom and use the opportunity for some safe mask-free time!
Mrs. Berrell, an Orton-Gillingham trained educator, leads our R.O.A.R. program and acts as the Lower School Discovery teacher in literacy intervention. Students love visiting R.O.A.R., Reaching Outstanding Academic Results, and engaging in the multi-sensory activities to practice foundational skills including phonemic awareness, phonics and word study, high frequency words, reading fluency, and spelling.
Our student body came out to cheer on our eighth grade students for their rocket launch this afternoon!
Our kindergarten through eighth grade students participated in a mock election hosted by our Beta Club this morning. It is a gift to acknowledge the right to vote and allow our students to participate in practicing this responsibility, as well! We are lifting up our nation in prayer in this election season.
School is cancelled for tomorrow, Friday, October 30. There will be NO virtual school. Have a safe weekend!
This morning our video production students did a fabulous job running our socially distanced middle school chapel. We are so thankful for the opportunity to safely gather our students for worship, prayer, and teaching. Our middle school students heard from Dr. Rice about God’s invitation into His great story, and Mrs. Berrell shared with our lower school students about what it means for each person to be fearfully and wonderfully made by God.
Our eighth grade students are putting the finishing touches on their rockets, a science project that utilizes their knowledge of the laws of motion, force, and gravity. Weather permitting, the rocket launch will be held this Friday!
Thank you to our PTF and All Pro Dad leadership for creating an incredible outdoor experience for our annual Donuts with Dad. Enjoy a glimpse of the encouraging messages and fun sidewalk chalk drawings from Friday morning.
Donuts with Dad: Outdoor Edition! Thank you to our PTF and parent volunteers who created a plan to safely gather for this special tradition! We loved seeing our community gather to pray, fellowship, and make memories together this morning.
Today marks our 50th day of school for our 2020-2021 school year! What an amazing first quarter of school we have had! It has been so wonderful to see God’s protection on our families and staff. We are celebrating today on the 50 yard line, and our students and staff are showing their team spirit in full force today!

Thank you to our Booster Club for hosting a wonderful fall athletics banquet last night! It was a joy to express gratitude to our parents, coaching staff, and our administration for helping to run a smooth and safe season. Our coaches were also able to honor athletes for their Christ-like character, heart and hustle, and commitment to their sport! Go Lions!
Mrs. Graham, our librarian, has curated mobile library carts to bring to classrooms this year! Each library class includes read-aloud time from a variety of genres and the opportunity for our students to check out new books. Enjoy a glimpse into our third grade students’ time this morning!
