Hey!!!! We know you! Dr. Chahine speaking with @gradyhealth about #endometriosis. Endometriosis is a painful condition that millions of women struggle with - but there's no reason to suffer in silence. "Listen to your body, trust yourself," says Dr. Elizabeth Chahine, an OB/GYN in Grady's Women's Center. "If it hurts, it needs to be addressed." Dr. Chahine advocates patients choose a treatment option right for them, but no patient has to make that decision alone. She makes it... a priority to listen to her patients and address their concerns. The team is here to guide each woman through their unique situation, with special consideration given to women's personal goals for their reproductive health, Chahine says. "We help people make good choices for now and the future," says Dr. Chahine. "Every day should be a good day." #EndometriosisAwarenessMonth #WomensHealth

For many couples, their most fervent wish is to become parents. But, for many women, the path to pregnancy isn’t always easy. One of those women was Mia Mance. She and her husband Chad struggled to conceive for nearly two years. The couple, who live in Savannah, had already completed an unsuccessful cycle of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) when they found Jennifer Kawwass, MD, medical director of the Emory Reproductive Center (ERC). https://advancingyourhealth.org/a-lifetime-dream-come-true/
Should expectant mothers get the COVID-19 vaccine? What do we know about the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine in people with HIV? In this episode, we discuss the COVID-19 vaccine and its possible effect on special populations, such as people living with HIV, pregnant people, and the transplant community with Dr. Rachel Bender Ignacio of the University of Washington, Dr. Denise Jamieson of Emory University and Dr. Aruna Subramanian of Stanford University. https://www.idsociety.org//covid-19-vaccinating-pregnant-/
Thank you Dr. Collins for sharing. Masked and now vaccinated-the rollout of vaccines begins. #covidvaccine #ACOGfightsCOVID
Since the 1960s, pregnant women have been urged to receive vaccines against influenza and other diseases. These women are generally cautioned against live vaccines, which contain weakened pathogens. Even so, the benefits of live vaccines outweigh the risks in some situations, said Dr. Denise Jamieson, an obstetrician at Emory University in Atlanta and a member of A.C.O.G.’s committee on Covid vaccines. We have a long track record of giving pregnant women vaccinations, and nearly all vaccinations are very safe, Dr. Jamieson said. https://www.nytimes.com//coronavirus-vaccine-pregnant-brea
The exercise of public authority in an area as deeply personal and private as the decision about whether and when to have a child requires strong justification," according to Sonja A. Rasmussen, MD, Anne Drapkin Lyerly, MD, and Denise J. Our Chair, Dr. Denise Jamieson, tells NPR's Sacha Pfeiffer that the recent findings "should be somewhat reassuring" to pregnant women and their families. "However, I still think there are many reasons to be vigilant about COVID-19," she says. "It's still really important that pregnant women take measures to protect themselves, and it's also really important that pregnant women have access to COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they're available." https://apple.news/AhmBsf2vGRROqPOMH-Di_HA
