We invite you late on this Good Friday and during the heavy grief of Saturday to view SOULa Scriptura - Rev. T. Denise Anderson "Pieta" Project and to be in prayer. http://www.tdandersonart.com/pieta-woman-behold-your-son-/

Emory Presbyterian and Druid Hills Presbyterian Church are grateful for the meaningful Good Friday Stations of the Cross Worship liturgy created by A Sanctified Art LLC and SOULa Scriptura - Rev. T. Denise Anderson (which included "A Pieta" of Mamie Till weeping for her son Emmett) and the worship leadership from both churches tonight. During Station 6 "Jesus is Crucified" (John 19:16-22), participants were invited to share, via the Zoom chat feature, the title they would gi...ve to Jesus on the cross. They wrote the following: Jesus carer of all Lord of all, Savior Holy slaughtered Lamb! Prince of Peace Best friend Revolutionary Jesus, our saviour Caring savior One chosen by God As Elizabeth Soileau Acton and I (Andy Acton) offered the departing words, images of Jesus on the cross and Jesus being laid in the tomb appeared on the Zoom screen. Many thanks to Dr. Israel Galindo at Columbia Theological Seminary for letting us share his extraordinary art. "Do not look away. Do not rush to redeem this violence. Do not carry on as if nothing is wrong. Grive this. Mourn this. Sit with this. And if you cannot, sit and mourn with those who mourn. Grieve with those who grieve. Go in peace, understanding that peace is not the absence of tension, but the presence of justice. May God's Spirit direct you to create the kind of justice that was denied Jesus on this day. Amen."

All are welcome to attend the "Post-Election Service of Healing and Wholeness" Wednesday evening (tonight) at 7 pm via Zoom. Contact Rev. Andy Acton for the link. Join us for a time of scripture reading and prayers of lament and healing for the current state of the world, and let us unite together in God's love, remembering who we are and to whom we belong. Regardless of the outcome of the contentious 2020 Presidential campaign, each and every one of us is a beloved child of... the triune God who, alone, is sovereign in our lives. We as followers of Jesus proclaim that we are one body in Christ, and commit ourselves fervently to the ways of love, mercy and peace. No matter who wins the election, we will still have a lot of work and ministry to do to feed the hungry, free the oppressed, bring comfort to the sick and bind up the broken hearted. #roomforeverybody

Let us worship the Lord on this All- Saints Day and Third Sunday of EPC stewardship season:

Don't forget: tomorrow night (Saturday, October 31st), set your clocks back an hour before going to bed. We'll still have online worship ready for you before 11:00 AM, but you get an extra hour of sleep in the meantime!

Great things are continuing to happen at EPC! We may be virtual, but we're still engaging in fruitful worship and fellowship. One event in the life of our church is this Thursday's Presbyterian Women Evening Circle, where we will begin our study of the 2020-2021 book "Into the Light: Finding Hope Through Prayers of Lament". For more information/for the Zoom link to this meeting, please email Cindy Hinton or Anne Baird -- or contact the church office for information. #allarewelcome #roomforeverybody

Grateful for a peace-filled moment of Contemplative Prayer on Thursday evening via Zoom from 7-7:30 pm. A gift to be led by Deedra Rich, our Director of Christian Education, to spend time with some EPCers and spiritually connect. Looking forward to gathering again in this way on Thursday November 19, and I hope others can join us. --Rev. Andy Acton
