Have you heard construction friends or colleagues excitedly share about a topping out, and wonder what they were talking about? The topping out ceremony is an age-old tradition in which the tallest and last beam is placed on a project. It marks a major milestone for everyone on the project. It signifies the groundwork being laid and the countless hours already poured into the building. It also commemorates the hard work that each person has contributed to reach this day. Talk about progress! Our most recent aerial photos of Awesome Alpharetta, Georgia's new boutique hotel, Hamilton Hotel, give a glimpse of what’s to come. Infrastructure for the building’s façade and cornice has been completed and installation of the precast veneer at the street level is almost done too. Brick masonry work will begin very soon, and we can’t wait to share the next time-lapse which will show the complete installation of the exterior skin of the building. It’s very exciting to see the architecture and character of the Hamilton Hotel taking shape before our eyes.

Our Fulton County library renovations are specifically open just in time for early voting for the 2020 elections! While the libraries are not open for in-person library services yet, you can see our handiwork in action across Fulton County at various early voting polling places. Some of the Evergreen team made their way over to Truist Park to cheer on the Atlanta Braves for a watch party. While the score wasn’t exactly what we hoped for, the company and memories were a home run! Emilie Chegwidden Hayes even got to do the #napacapshuffle! #GoBraves

These photos show our latest progress at Susan Todd Pearson Middle School. Over the course of the past few weeks, we have hauled enough excavated dirt from the site to fill over 3,500 full dump trucks. That's a lot of dirt! As of today, we are nearing completion for installing the underground utilities and foundation, and we have started erecting structural steel in what will become the school's new gymnasium and theater. Once complete, we will begin constructing the block masonry walls as well as get started on the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. And guess what? It was a day filled with camaraderie, hard work and accomplishment, and we are proud to have come together for a local school. Meet one of our favorite dynamic duos at Evergreen: father-son team, Paul and Kris Rozelle! Paul is a superintendent; Kris is an assistant superintendent, and you'll find both of them currently on-site at Pearson Middle School, working side by side. The father-son team has been working together for quite a while, "Seven years ago Paul was a superintendent, and I was his labor foreman, four years later I moved up to field engineering assistant, and a year later I moved to Paul’s assistant superintendent," says Kris. Beyond working together, the guys love fishing for crappie, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, and spending time with family.

We're excited to share the latest update from our Crabapple Middle School project which will replace the existing middle school just in time for the 2021-2022 school year. We're currently hard at work on the retaining wall as well as the parking lots. While teachers, staff and visitors won't need parking spaces anytime soon, the parking lots are an integral part of our ability to keep working throughout any cold or wet weather conditions heading our way this winter.
