Some wonderful words...... This morning before 8 am as I drove up to my office, I saw one of our family promise guests in front of the chapel waiting for a ride (UBER or LYFT, I guess) to go to work. His motivation to get up and out to work motivates me to do what I can to help support and encourage him. So, I’m grateful that we support this ministry of Family Promise. - Minister of Congregational Care

Transitioning from crisis to stability takes time and assistance. That's why Family Promise families remain part of our program for up to 6 months after graduation! The average cost of childcare is over $600 a month for one child in Georgia. Families with two children often have to spend over 25% of their income on childcare cost. In the past year we've been able to partner with organizations to provide THREE free cars to families in the Family Promise program! How incredible! Having reliable transportation is a crucial aspect of maintain steady and fulltime employment. Family Promise's Freedom To Work program assists our families with essential car needs to keep cars running and families where they need to go. A mother and her two children came to Family Promise when they were priced out of their apartment. One income and two growing kids, she struggled to make ends meet. The 12 year-old girl was finding it difficult to see the whiteboard at school. She’d lost her glasses her mother could not afford to replace them. The little girl’s prescription wasn’t too strong, so she tried to sit as close to the front as she could. But it was getting harder for her to keep up in class and by ...the end of the day her head ached. At Family Promise of North Fulton/DeKalb, these are common stories and because of the real struggles that families face everyday, the Kids Come First program began.
