Dr. Bannister performed a Spay and a Gastropexy on this beautiful German Shepard. Female animals (Spay) have an incision made just below the belly button into the abdomen. The reproductive tract, both ovaries, and the uterus are completely removed through this incision. The the incision is closed with two layers of sutures under the skin that will disolve and be absorbed by the body over time. The Gastropexy is a surgical operation in which the stomach is sutured to the abdominal wall to prevent bloat and/or twisting of the stomach which could stop its blood flow. #ftacamazing #4theloveofmilton #procedurewednesday #miltonga #miltonstrong #shepherdsofinstagram #familytreeanimalclinic

Dr. Bannister was thankful to see one of his biggest patients- All 150 pounds of cuddles, hugs and absolute cuteness.
