But for the first time I’m glad I live in the middle of the ing suburbs north of Atlanta where I can be the first to cover Fire Stone Chinese Cuisine located in a strip mall in Kennesaw. And for all of you bummed that so many places ...that offered xiao long bao on Buford Highway closed recently, you can rejoice because when three close, one opens . And conveniently only ten minutes from my house! The xlb takes around 20-25 minutes to make after you order it because they make it from scratch, so order your other food to enjoy while you wait. The dough is on the thicker side, which I’ve learned to accept being in the Atlanta area. As long as I can eat them while still hot or at least warm, I can overlook the slightly doughy wrapper because it’s soft enough. None of them exploded when I picked them up, which was also a good sign. The meat filling was really tender and flavorful, as was the soup, and not dry at all. I would say the meat and soup was good enough for me to come back and order again. They also served it with the black vinegar and ginger, which I’m going to be pleasantly surprised with since I’ve been to places in Atlanta where they didn’t offer it to me at all even though it’s supposed to be a given. I’ll post more about the other dishes in another post, but for now, swipe to see more pictures of this xiao long bao and a small preview of some other menu items.
