I have been blessed with the people who have trusted me with their legal problems since I fell off the turnip truck in Alma when I was hired by Barry Jones and Teddy Solomon out of Mercer law school in 1983. I started the day after my last exam. Even as a young attorney you looked past my youth and an Inexperience and trusted me to fight your fights. We won most of them didn’t we? I always took that trust seriously and fought with everything I had. As the years wen...t on I learned my trade and I cannot believe how blessed I am that so many people call me when they have problems and enlist me to fight their battles. I have no plans to stop practicing law anytime soon. I am however slowing down the practice a little bit so I have more time with my family. Do not hesitate to call me and if I can help you as well as anybody that I know in my trade I will endeavor to do so time permitting. If I cannot take the case either because I am fully loaded with work or because it is not something that I can do as well as anybody I know I will introduce you to lawyers who are experts at their trade who handle those kind of cases. With a doctor with the intelligence and who is a leading physician, believe me, tells me this in spite of my inclination to go to the gym, I think I better listen and share this message: I’m getting updated by some of my med school friends in bigger cities - This virus is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. All of the ICUs are getting overloaded, running out of ventilators, supplies going quickly. This mentality of we’re America, nothing bad happens here and God will take ...care of me, I’m not worried about it is not only ignorant, but dangerous. I believe God will take care of us too, but that does not excuse us from common sense and following recommendations of those who are trained for this. Please share this with as many people as you can. I’m not one to get on Facebook and start some stupid debate, but this is the real deal. Social distancing, canceling all travel and plans, all of these recommendations need to be followed. We are near the same trajectory as Italy, who is currently withholding care from the elderly to reserve resources for people more likely survive. I would like very much to not be in that position.
