"Forman Christian College back in the day. This photograph was taken in a chemistry lab two years after Forman professor Arthur Compton, later president of Washington University in St. Louis, received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his research which demonstrated the particle nature of electromagnetic radiation (the so-called "Compton Effect"). As an aside, Forman's Intermediate Chemistry Building has established a small museum of lab equipment, very possibly including some of the same items shown here. I can't help but also notice that this photo was taken in 1929 -- the year my father was born." ~ Dr Jonathan Addleton, Rector FCCU
