https://www.wabe.org/codehouse-launches-new-initiative-to-/ ... CodeHouse Founder Ernest Holmes (left) launched this nonprofit with his Morehouse brothers and Spelman sisters when they were students. After securing partnerships with Google, Microsoft, Dell, and IBM, CodeHouse hosted an event that exposed more than 300 metro Atlanta middle and high school teens to tech careers and tech corporations. CodeHouse is still working to improve diversity in STEM. The outreach is in its third year and is now launching a scholarship.

We would like to thank Verily for partnering with us to provide opportunities for exceptional scholars interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering) careers. Verily has donated a $575,000 gift to fund the Verily Scholars Program, an endowed award that will support the education of scholars majoring in science, technology, or mathematics and provide them with all-expenses-paid summer internships at Verily. The partnership expands Morehouse's efforts to improve racial disparities in STEM careers.

We would like to thank The Ray Charles Foundation for contributing a $2 million gift to provide scholarships for outstanding business majors. The contribution expands the foundation’s legacy of support for Morehouse. Since 1995, the nonprofit has donated more than $9.6 million to the College, including serving as a major investor in the construction of the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center at Morehouse in 2013. The Ray Charles Foundation is dedicated to promoting excellence in academics and the arts and supporting charitable causes championed by the late, legendary Grammy-Award-winning musician Ray Charles.
