Today marks the first day of the Salvation Army Can-A-Thon! We have a school-wide goal of collecting 20,000 cans, so we are asking each student to donate 24 non-perishable food items between Monday and November 13. We've designated Friday, November 13, as "Can Day" for middle school and high school students to bring in their cans. Items most needed:... Proteins such as: canned tuna, chicken, ham Canned entrees such as: ravioli, beef stew, chili Assorted veggies (other than green beans & carrots) Canned fruit Assorted dried foods such as:rice, dried beans Tomato products and sauces NO GLASS CONTAINERS, please! And that's a wrap for another fun Pumpkin Day! Today our Village through Pre-First students dressed their farmer best and enjoyed games, a pumpkin patch, hayride, and petting zoo! They even got to pick out and decorate their ownspecial pumpkin. ... We were especially thankful for the beautiful weather to enjoy a fall celebration before the long weekend. "When words alone are not enough, music speaks." Last night our community attended an evening of exciting and enlivening choral music featuring Treble Choir, Rising Voices, and Concert Choir on Bastian Center Stage conducted by Dr. Marcus Miller. It was both inspiring and magical to watch our talented choral students perform as the sun set over campus. What a night to remember! ... It was all smiles over in Middle School yesterday as they enjoyed "Beach Day" and shaved ice for reaching 95% in the Annual Fund! Way to go, Spartans.

This past week @gacfootball received an unusual email with a video link that led to some surprising and incredible encouragement from across the country. The video contained messages from a high school coach, team athletes, and chaplain from Modesto, California. Its message was clear and poignant, especially in 2020: be grateful for what you have because you never know when it will be taken away.
