Today Georgia DNR Announces $8.4 Million in Outdoor Recreation Grant Funds- Nearly 30 projects across Georgia supported through Land and Water Conservation Fund. These funds will be used for the acquisition, development, and renovation of outdoor recreation areas all across the state. The Georgia DNR encourages you to get out and enjoy the great outdoors across our beautiful state
Today, the entire Georgia DNR family is grieving the sudden loss of Captain Stan Elrod. Captain Elrod was a brave and selfless officer of great integrity, who devoted 28 years of service to DNR, the state of Georgia, and his fellow Georgians. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has deployed Critical Action and Debris Removal teams to Georgia communities impacted by the Easter weather outbreak in the early hours of April 13th. The 53rd Annual Rattlesnake & Wildlife Festival in Claxton on March 14 & 15.
Today, the DNR Commissioner’s Office worked in conjunction with the Office of Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services to help bring the holidays to foster children across our state as part of the Clark’s Christmas Kids toy drive. Governor Brian Kemp has expanded the State of Emergency to include 21 Southeast Georgia counties to include Appling, Bacon, Brantley, Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Ch...arlton, Chatham, Clinch, Echols, Effingham, Evans, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Screven, Tattnall, Wayne and Ware.
