Last week SPOC was successfully deployed from the ISS. We've been receiving telemetry with help from amateur stations around the globe SatNOGS, so we know SPOC ...is doing well in the space environment. Learn more about the meaningful research human geography professor Dr. Nik Heynen and Maurice Bailey, a small business owner and a descendant of those enslaved on the island, are doing to highlight the importance of liberation farming for the Sapelo Island community. https://bit.ly/2F88LGO
"Around the globe, scientists, businesses, governments, international leaders and countless others are leveraging GIS capabilities to understand and solve 21st century challenges, both urgent and complex: monitoring global Covid-19 rates, helping essential workers find childcare, mapping air quality during wildfires, strengthening national power grids, analyzing deforestation and the threat of super typhoons, and more. GIS is at the heart of some of society’s most essential functions, not the least of which is education." https://bit.ly/36HMUl0
